Axia Electric, a Shimmick Company, provided electrical work for the Caltrain Station Pedestrian Underpass project in Oakland, CA, connecting Brokaw Road to the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the future BART extension. Axia’s responsibilities included installing power and lighting systems to support the new pedestrian tunnel and adjacent infrastructure, ensuring safe, well-lit access for future transit users. The electrical scope contributed to the broader construction effort, which included the installation of precast tunnel segments, cast-in-place concrete ramps, and retaining walls, all within an active transportation corridor.
